Beginners courses

Comprehension and Introduction to Oral Skills is a course designed for people from other parts of Spain or from abroad who are beginning to learn Catalan. The course practises the language used in the situations that people often encounter when they first arrive in Catalonia. Catalan Course for University Students is another beginners course for people with a good knowledge of one or more Romance languages and especially for students planning to attend classes at the UB.

The course Comprehension and Introduction to Oral Skills is followed by The Development of Oral Skills at the second level and Fluency and Oral Accuracy at the third.

As these courses are considered optional, University students may obtain credits.

1. Comprehension and Introduction to Oral Skills - 80 hours
[June-July 2010]

Catalan course for University Students - 40 hours
[September 2010]

Comprehension and Introduction to Oral Skills (Module 2) - 40 hours
[September 2010]

2. Development of Oral Skills - 80 hours [June-July and September 2010]

3. Fluency and Oral Accuracy - 80 hours [June-July and September 2010]

 

In addition to the courses listed above, ERASMUS students can apply for a supplementary mobility grant to do a beginner course in Catalan (August 23 to September 3) which is part of the series EILC 2010-11 (Erasmus Intensive Language Courses).
